Who am I

Hi, my name is Daniel Branwood, a.k.a. Crazy Dan Skateboard Coach.

I’m your friendly neighborhood Skateboarder Man, Doncaster born and bred. I love this city and have been skating for over 25 years. I’m passionate about skateboarding and helping develop the next generation of skaters.

I like to keep it old school, practical, positive and all about the most important part of skateboarding, having fun!

What I’m Doing Now

I teach lessons at the local indoor skatepark DSC (Doncaster Skate Cooperative)—and it’s been awesome seeing people learn, progress, and enjoy skating.

I also help out with:

  • Doncaster Council

  • Cantley Park & Galas

  • Remake Learning Doncaster

  • CIC groups

  • Primary and secondary schools

  • DSC indoor skatepark

  • And many more

Community & Experience

I’ve been hosting skateboarding lessons since 2020, but I’ve been helping the local skateboarding community for many years.

I’ve hosted and helped out in many local skateboard competitions across South Yorkshire, working with the Area 51 crew and supporting the scene as much as possible.

Charity Work – Skate-For-Life

Giving back to the community is another passion of mine

I’ve taken on long-distance skateboarding challenges for charity, supporting Leukemia Lymphoma through Skate-For-Life (SFL)—raising over £2000 on JustGiving.

  • 2014 – Hull to Hornsea (75 miles)

  • 2016 – Doncaster to London (200 miles)

  • 2018 – Tour de Yorkshire Stage 1 route (Beverley to Doncaster, 75 miles)

There are YouTube videos (Skate-For-Life) documenting all these challenges.

Next goal: The Trans Pennine Trail

Inspiration

I am very inspired by Sky Brown and the Olympic team, especially after attending the UK Olympic Qualification event in Manchester (Grey Stone, 2019).

That experience pushed me to take things further and build something for the local community and hope I can inspire young people too.

Giving Back

I’ve been sponsored in the past, but now I want to support local skaters as much as possible.

Helping people get into skateboarding, build confidence, and enjoy something real is what it’s all about.

This isn’t just skateboarding.
This is community, passion, and purpose.

Ps this is just the tip of the iceberg!!

I will always continue to push things forward and look forward to what the future holds
